Hajj & Ummrah 2020

ISDHH proudly announces the first American Deaf delegation for Umrah and Hajj, a holy pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The delegation will be accompanied by ASL interpreters. Members of the delegation will visit the holy sites of Mecca and the prophet’s city of Medina, and perform the sacred rites of Hajj and Umrah. The trip will, without any doubt, be memorable and life changing for all deaf muslims who'd have the privilege to attend. This ISDHH project would be made possible with the generous donations of our supporters InshaAllah. Thanks to all of you.

In the Eyes of Allah

Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan

This khutbah will give you the peace and mindfulness to appreciate Allah’s many gifts. Here Ustadh Nouman explains Surah 'Abasa, focusing on how we treat people with special needs in our communities; and compares it with the status Allah afforded them in the Quran. In this khutabah Ustadh Nouman recounts the story behind Surah ‘Abasa, a Mekki surah that was revealed as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was speaking to one of the elites of Quraish. On this rare occasion when one of the tribal leaders was actually listening to the Prophet, a blind distant relative of the Prophet rushed to him, interrupting the conversation to ask for guidance and inspiration. Even though the Prophet’s reaction was muted - he only slightly frowned and looked away - Allah revealed these ayat to draw the attention of the Prophet and the rest of us, that in the eyes of Allah, this blind man who sought the Prophet out with all his senses, is more worthy than those with hardened hearts no matter what their status in society.
